Venus Trap Platforms[1] are carnivorous plants from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. A Venus Trap Platform hangs upside down and is supported by a coiled, flexible stem allowing it to drop down and attack smaller creatures, then quickly return to their normal position. A Venus Trap Platform lunges toward the Kongs or any target that moves beneath them. Venus Trap Platforms can be avoided as they descend to attack, but they cannot be destroyed. The base of a Venus Trap Platform's head is coated with a leaf crown, which serves as a platform. The Kongs can quickly mount a Venus Trap Platform while it is close to the ground and be lifted to higher areas as it rises back.
Venus Trap Platforms only appear in the first level, Mangrove Cove. A later level, Bramble Scramble, features enemies with a similar appearance, Chompettes.
