Mario Party: The Top 100:

The Great Deflate is a 2-vs-2 minigame in Mario Party 4 and Mario Party: The Top 100. Its name comes from the term "the Great Debate."

Gameplay[edit]

At a beach, an inflatable Thwomp falls onto the ground, and the camera zooms out, revealing a second inflatable Thwomp as each team lands on their respective one.

Players must ground-pound their inflatable Thwomp enough to completely deflate it. The higher the jump before the ground-pound, the more air that gets deflated. The first team to completely deflate their inflatable Thwomp wins. If neither team has completely has done so within 30 seconds, the minigame ends in a tie.

Once the minigame ends, the winning team does their winning animation. In Mario Party 4, the losing team does their losing animation.

Setting[edit]

The minigame takes place on a deserted island, with sand on the ground. The sky is mostly clear, aside from some clouds in the background. The sun is in the top-center of the screen, and its reflection is visible on the ocean water. There is a palm tree on the left and another on the right. Several seagulls fly over the sea surrounding the island. The two inflatable Thwomps are centered between the palm trees, with the left one sitting on a red-and-white-checkered blanket and the other sitting on a blue-and-white-checkered blanket.

In Mario Party: The Top 100, a few coconuts are visible from the two palm trees. The left palm tree was moved a bit further into the background, and is partially obscured by a bush with two red flowers. The right palm tree sits atop a small grassy hill.
